Circus performers knew this command meant that something terrible had happened and is often attributed to a trapeze artist falling to the ground. When such an event occurred the circus clowns came out hoping to distract the audience from the horrific events that preceded the tragedy. It would be a difficult time for all the performers trying to keep their chin up with such adversity before them.

Unfortunately the Wicked Ashland Twisted Circus must send in the clowns. In our case…the show will not go on as planned.

Last year the energy in the room was electric. Not an unkind word was said to us about anything, but in the end the event was not profitable. We were ok with this fact. We believed if we did the event again people would come and bring their friends.  Our goal was to break even in 2011 however ticket sales cannot be predicted well enough to assure this and with the economy as it is I had to make some tough decisions. The stakes were to high and we made the decision to cancel this years event (The only time we have ever done so).

I apologize to you….the audience, the sponsors, and the performers both who work at Sights & Sounds Unlimited and those we brought into the event and lovingly gave us their support and time. Those of you that have pre-bought your tickets to the event will be fully refunded. I also know that many of you have been working on your costumes for quite some time. We have arranged a gathering at The Black Sheep on the Plaza in Ashland and would like to invite everyone to a put on their costumes and come have some fun with our staff on Friday From 8-11pm. We will bring the photobooth (there is not charge to use the photobooth). We would love to see you all there!

In addition to a full refund for those who did pre-buy tickets we will remember their support if and when we try again. For more information you can contact me at jesw@ssounds.com

Respectfully and Regrettably,

Jes Webb

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for coming back to the WickedAshland page.  We had so much fun last year we couldn’t resist throwing the party again this year.  Remember, it is a circus theme but you can come in any costume you like whether it be naughty, nice, funny, or scary.  We’ll provide and atmosphere unlike any other party of the season.  If you don’t believe us just ask somebody who has been to our event!

Many of our performers are coming back including The Curtain Climbers, Thriller Dancers, Darby McCue, and DJ Justin Dietz,  but we are also adding new performers.  You can expect to see Emily from Circus Tribal (http://circustribal.com/), Tammy and Star from Pole Dance Fitness (http://www.poledancefitnessmedford.com/), and DJ Gemineye of Kiss FM fame.  He just signed on and will be working from 8pm-10pm.

There will be free Photobooths, liquor snow cones, live performances, and lots of energy throughout the room.

We hope to see you there.  Remember you can buy tickets online and at the door.  Beginning October 20th you should be able to purchase tickets at our sponsors locations, Iguana Comics located in Grants Pass and Medford, as well as the Black Sheep in Ashland.  If you visit one of these stores the cost is only $17 for each ticket.  We hope to see you there.  I expect the event to be every bit as much fun as last year.

Regards,

Jes Webb

This is the Southern Oregon’s Aerial Dance Company Talking about their artform and what they intend to do at Ashland’s Wicked Fantasy Halloween Ball.

A few people have asked us what to do if they don’t have a credit/debit card and can only pay in cash. Write us here and tell us your name. We will hold a ticket for you at the door that you can pay for that night. However, we ask that you arrive by 10:30pm. One of the hardest things to predict at an event like this is the amount of tickets purchased at the door. We anticipate many people waiting until the doors open to buy their tickets. There is a limit to the amount of people the room will hold. Are tickets selling well? Yes…..do we expect the event to sell out? We don’t know. The room is rated to hold 750 people. After our props are in the room, 50 staff/performers and 300 people arrive the room is going to be full. So I doubt the event will achieve the capacity that the Fire Marshal has set. There will be a point where we will just close the doors. It’s a comfort and security issue. However the more the merrier for now.

Jeff Egli talks about his art, and experience body painting models throughout the Pacific Northwest. For more information about Jeff’s work, go to www.jeffegli.com. You will be able to watch him work at Ashland’s Wicked Fantasy Halloween Ball.

We started planning the event in July when we discovered the Historic Ashland Armory was available.  Our company had worked on other Halloween events in the past but we wanted to do something bigger and more elaborate.  We wanted to do something that wasn't quite the norm for the Rogue Valley.   Ashland has embraced events for Halloween through the years making the location an easy choice.  Further, the response in town has been outstanding.  We anticipate a full house.  Radio spots hit KISS FM today for the next two weeks as well.  By request of some of the attendees we have been asked to make a VIP area.  It is in the works now.  A couple things to know if you are attending.... Please enjoy this great little video on how to make Vampire Punch. Chateau Roberts of Hidden Jungle walks us through making a wonderfully fun Halloween drink called “Vampire Punch”. Hidden Jungle will be providing mobile bar services this Halloween @ Ashland’s Wicked Fantasy Halloween Ball 10/30/10.

The Ashland Wicked Fantasy Ball is offering performance artists the opportunity to get in to the party for free. If you have a talent or skill that can be performed during the evening for 10-15 minutes you can get in as a performer but stay as long as you want. Perform twice and we will give a ticket for an additional guest/date of your choice. Jugglers, contortionists, plasma balls, anything that is a spectacle to watch will be considered.

However you must meet the criteria. The performance must be able to be done on a 4×4 stage, cannot involve open flame, and must be safe for the audience (no knives etc.). Music will not be selectable as the DJs will be performing near you. You must be in some sort of Halloween costume unless you cannot perform while wearing one.

To be considered either send us a link for video of what you can do, or write us so we may schedule a time for us to meet you in the next week. First responses will be first to schedule their times to perform.

Please use our Contact Form to get in touch.
